Mozilla表示，F(xiàn)irefox Quantum瀏覽器速度是Firefox 52的兩倍。它能夠通過使用Rust語言來重建組件提高瀏覽器的速度，這些組件現(xiàn)在更有效率。 Firefox歷史版本僅在一個CPU核心上運行任務(wù)，但在Quantum及更高版本中，它將利用多個CPU核心，從而使瀏覽器速度更快。
通過使用Rust編寫的新CSS引擎，F(xiàn)irefox可以并行使用多個CPU來縮短加載時間，Mozilla聲稱沒有其他瀏覽器可以執(zhí)行此操作。為了進(jìn)一步提高速度，Mozilla將用戶打開的選項卡放在首位，并且采用多進(jìn)程架構(gòu)。 Firefox Quantum在某些網(wǎng)站上的打開速度超過Chrome，同時使用的內(nèi)存減少30%。該團(tuán)隊還修復(fù)了468個瀏覽器問題，這可能會導(dǎo)致速度上升。
下載前注意：由于瀏覽器擴展作者大部分還沒有針對Firefox 57進(jìn)行更新，因此絕大多數(shù)的擴展在當(dāng)前的Beta測試時期均無法使用。
