Sales of CMMB-enabled terminal end devices are expected to reach 15-20 million units in the China market in 2010, according to an estimate of Loren Lasley, vice president for marketing at Siano Mobile Silicon.
Siano's recently launched new-generation low-cost CMMB chips have entered design-in process in a number of device makers for the development of PMPs (portable multimedia players), PNDs, mobile TV handsets and USB dongles, with some related products likely to be rolled out in May, Lasley indicated.
Customers for Siano's CMMB chips include Samsung Electronics, Motorola, ZTE, Huawei Technologies, TCL, Beijing Tianyu Communication Equipment, Yulong Computer Technology, Garmin and Mitac International, Lasley revealed.
