COPENHAGEN -- Huawei, a leader in providing next generation telecommunication network solutions for operators around the world, has signed a contract with Telenor Denmark to deploy a Mobile Backhaul Commercial Network for Telenor. This is the first network in Denmark to comply with the IEEE[1] 1588v2 standard allowing Telenor to smoothly modernize the network to LTE (Long Term Evolution). Telenor and Huawei have already started the deployment and later this year Telenor’s Danish customers will benefit from the new technology.
The IEEE 1588v2 is the latest industry standard that enables high-precision clock synchronization and meets the LTE bearer needs of operators. As GPS (Global Positioning System), the other industry standard of time synchronization, cannot penetrate roofs, IEEE 1588v2 technology is able to better utilize the spectrums and synchronize the time information for indoor base stations by transport network. By deploying Huawei's PTN (Packet Transport Network) mobile compliant backhaul solution, Telenor Denmark is able to accelerate its network roadmap while protecting their investment. Lars Rude Andersen, CTO of Telenor Denmark states, "We are very glad to work with Huawei in the Mobile Backhaul field. We are confident in Huawei’s advanced PTN solution, which will enable our customer to enjoy faster and higher quality mobile services from Telenor.
With our leading solutions in mobile broadband field and strong capability in delivery, we are very confident to deliver a high-quality PTN network to Telenor Denmark to help our customer solve the increasing bandwidth needs on mobile backhaul side, says James Chen, Managing Director of Huawei Nordic To date, Huawei's PTN mobile backhaul solution has been widely adopted by world-leading operators, including Vodafone, Orange of FT, China Mobile, China Telecom, MegaFon, Telenor and T-Mobile.
