Beijing Unicom Launches“3G Watchdog”

On 21 February, Beijing Unicom launched a new service called “3G Watchdog”. This new service subscription includes an exclusive card and a monthly fee of RMB 30.

Subscriber of “3G Watchdog” has first to install an exclusive USIM card based video camera in his home. Then, user could use a 3G cell phone which supports video call function to connect his home’s video camera, and makes a video conversation.

The home video camera could be adjusted by user’s 3G cell phone remotely. Video camera could be stimulated and send SMS and MMS through infrared port.

Users could apply for this service by purchasing a “3G Watchdog” terminal with a “3G Watchdog” exclusive card. The service would be free for the first month And from second month RMB 30 would be charged.

The service subscription could be signed in 44 Beijing Unicom business halls including 2 brand stores, 16 flagship stores and 26 standard stores. If user purchases a suit of 3G cell pone handheld and “3G Watchdog” terminal, there will be a discount of 500 yuan on GOME household appliances product collection card. However there would not be any discount, if user buys a 3G cellphone handheld or “3G Watchdog” terminal separately.

During the period of 11 February and 30 June, the subscription of “3G Watchdog” will have 50% discount. Besides, if a user purchases a “3G Watchdog” exclusive card together with a 3G SIM card, the “3G Watchdog” exclusive card will be free. Otherwise, it will cost 45 Yuan for each exclusive card.
